NRA First Steps Pistol

The NRA First Steps Pistol course introduces students to a particular type of handgun (revolver or autoloader). Students will learn how a handgun works: how to field-strip, clean, and maintain their firearm. They will have the opportunity to participate in one hour of live-fire training under the supervision of an experienced instructor. Students are welcome to bring their personal firearms to the class UNLOADED, per NRA safety policy.  The course costs $95, which includes all classroom materials and use of an instructor provided firearm. The course fee does not include student range time and ammunition. This course is taught in Fairfax, Virginia. Contact us if you are interested in private, in-home instruction for $140.

This course satisfies the Virginia firearms safety training requirement for a concealed handgun permit and the Washington D.C. firearms training requirement for handgun ownership.

  1. First of all, my huband and I both have CCW peritms and own guns. I cannot ever see the 2nd Amendment ever being taken away. There are too many people opposed to it. And with the shape our economy is in and the amount of money we have lost in the past few weeks and the drop in our homes value, I cannot base my vote simply on ONE issue. The Right to Bear Arms is not going anywhere. If things keep up the way they are, we’ll have to sell our guns anyhow! Be real here. We cannot afford to vote based on one issue. Look at the big picture and the rest will fall into place.
